1. X (Twitter): I mostly prioritize video game news and as such have built my Twitter timeline to be as focused on the topic as possible by following accounts like the primary publishers of the games I'm interested and other accounts that cover such news like IGN and GameSpot, however more important news such as significant political and world events will still find their way onto my timeline as well so I rarely feel out of the loop on things.
2. Instagram: I use Instagram mostly as an avenue to stay updated on friends and family, however news happens to find its way onto my For You page most of the time. I recommend Instagram because it is highly accessible to everyone and you can find a wide variety of content on there to broaden your horizons.
3. YouTube: YouTube is a good news source since it's algorithm actively tries to get you to consume new content, and as such breaking news is frequently on its front page and rather than just reading about things you can see video content that elaborates upon it as well.
4. CNN: CNN is one of the few dedicated news sources I use, having a source that offers extensive coverage of breaking events, maintains a large network of reporters around the world, and frequently updates major stories. Its global reach and ability to report quickly from the scene of important events make it a valuable source of information. I make it a point to not use exclusively CNN as a new source however as seeing news from multiple points of view helps eliminate biases.
5. Google News: Aggregates stories from thousands of publishers worldwide, which allows me to compare coverage from multiple outlets in one place. It also offers personalized recommendations, real-time updates, and broad range of perspectives to stay informed about local, national, and international events. By drawing from diverse news organizations, Google News can make it easier to access a variety of viewpoints on important topics.
